D. P. E. S. History

The company was formed in 1993 primarily as a oil industry IT sub-contractor. Our consultants work from home or on the customer's site. In the early years we provided a variety of solutions including safety systems, shipping programmes, production reporting, oilfield economics, gas plant simulators, drilling programmes as well as day-to-day spreadsheets.

During the period of intense activity prompted by "the Y2K bug", we grew to a team of five staff checking software for problems in advance of the new millennium milestone. Several oil industry applications which failed the test were re-built by us using the latest technology. 

Through this exercise we occupied a niche in oil shipping programme and parcel allocation software, supplying relevant solutions in three of the top North Sea oil operating companies. Probably sixty percent of oil and NGL shipments from the UK are processed using our software in this niche market.

In the years subsequent to Y2K we have maintained our contacts with oil operating companies and have continued  to extend and support the solutions for our clients, as well as pursuing our original activities.

We have extended our operations to the SME market providing IT support and solution development for a number of businesses and charities in N.E. Scotland.
